Dachau Concentration Camp was the first that the Nazis opened in 1933 in Germany, originally intended to hold political prisoners only. Later it became a camp of forced labor with over 200,000 inmates during its 12 years of operation.
The place became an “Academy of Terror”, a role model and a training ground of vast brutality, killing around 40,000 people from 34 nations before it was liberated in 1945 by the American army.

Guide was helpful and courteous. Candidly, one could just go to location and get auditory guide and save money.
Response from Host, Jul 2025
We're glad to hear the guide was helpful and courteous. While audio guides can be informative, many guests value the flexibility, personal interaction, and local insights a live guide provides. We hope to welcome you again in the future.

We are very fit ( prof athletes) but a LOT of walking and fast pace in between. Which was perfectly described on your website ! Connie our tour guide was awesome and very knowledgeable, great communicator and made it even more touching by adding pictures and stories from victims she had come across personally. Highly recommend the tour, incl the bus ride on an insanely cramped bus lol!
Response from Host, Jul 2025
We're so glad you found the tour aligned with the description and that it was a meaningful experience. Connie’s knowledge, communication, and personal stories clearly added depth and emotion to the journey. We’d be happy to welcome you on another tour in the future!

Michael was an excellent guide. Punctually at meeting place, and shepherded us through the S Bahn and then bus to Dachau. Was extremely respectful of the site and it's history and truthful about events there, no glossing over. Asked group to join in minutes silence in memory of those souls who had suffered so egregiously only to perish. Very poignant visit, as my father, a NZ POW in Stalag VIIA was liberated April 29th 1945, hours after US Forces liberated Dachau, and he witnessed first hand the state of some political prisoners from Dachau brought to Moosburg for care. Thankyou Michael

Franz was very knowledgeable and easy to speak with. We learned a lot of new information from him. We went through the memorial at our own pace.
