delicious and informative

thomassV566RR, Apr 2025

2.5 hours of plenty, delicious and varied food throughout the old harbor. Knowledgeable host, from the streets of Marseille itself. She knew the food and the City and loved talking about it. Great experience, thank you Albane!

Enjoyable experience for experienced travelers

Foods were interesting: pace was great; Inga was knowledgeable and wanted to please. The group was lovely. We are experienced travelers and look for something that will suit our pace and interests.

Amazing food tour in Marseille!

S9688TZfedericar, Apr 2025

Inga was an amazing hosts, really entertaining and knowledgable about the the history of the food and of the city. She made the experience very welcoming, fun and warm. The food tour was lovely, showcasing the multicultural as well as traditional aspects of food in Marseille. Will definitely recommend it!

Can we get our money back? What a disappointment.

familytravel4, Apr 2025

While we were excited to explore Marseilles through its culinary and cultural lens, this food tour unfortunately fell flat. The food itself was decent, though one dessert spot turned out to be part of a chain, which felt uninspired and not representative of the city's unique charm. What was most disappointing, however, was the lack of depth in the tour itself. Although our guide was very friendly and seemed kind and intelligent, they appeared disorganized and shared little of the city's rich history or the context behind the food we were tasting. For a city as vibrant and storied as Marseilles, this felt like a missed opportunity—especially since this was likely our only visit. Given the cost (over $200), we had higher expectations for a more polished and enriching experience. Sadly, it wasn’t just our opinion, as other participants expressed similar sentiments. It seems the issue was likely with training, as the guide had potential but wasn’t equipped to deliver a meaningful tour. In hindsight, we wish we had saved our money. For anyone considering this tour, we’d recommend looking for an option with a more specialized focus on the city's culinary history and culture.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We always take feedback seriously especially if it’s negative because it helps us improve. Our goal is always to offer an engaging, authentic glimpse into Marseille, far beyond the surface-level tourist spots. Our team has spent years curating this tour with care, drawing on local knowledge and personal experience to showcase some of the city's hidden gems and true character. You mentioned that the tour doesn’t reflect what you believe Marseille to be. Since this was your first visit, we’d be curious to understand what you were hoping for we always welcome insights that could help us refine our storytelling and approach. We also want to gently note that had you shared your concerns with the guide during the tour, we’re confident she would have done her best to adjust and ensure you had a more enjoyable experience our guides are passionate, attentive, and always open to feedback in the moment. Likewise, we’re always reachable after the tour by phone, message, or email, and would have gladly taken the time to discuss any issues in depth with you directly. It’s a bit disappointing to only learn of your dissatisfaction through a public review, especially when we strive to be available and responsive to every guest who reaches out. That said, we respect your opinion and will take your comments into account. While it’s never easy to receive negative feedback, we remain proud of the overwhelmingly positive experiences shared by most of our guests and committed to delivering meaningful, well-crafted tours with heart and integrity. Wishing you all the best in your future travels,
