Short answer: book your trip and ask for Tomoko! Long review: we had a great time with our guide Tomoko. She led us trough all the stops on our trip with ease and her knowledge about each station and beyond was extraordinary. She could answer all of our questions and some questions were very specific! She is a wonderful and lovely person and she even provided us with towels and umbrellas, cooling kits, etc. We really enjoyed our time with her and we will treasure our memories of this day dearly!

The spectacular tunnel of thousands vermilion torii gates is so famous and picturesque. These torii gates were offered by worshippers in appreciation of the good fortune they received from the deity enshrined here. Why don’t you, too, offer a prayer and change your luck?
The renowned bamboo forest with its subtle hues of green and the sun slanting through has an exceptional beauty. The rustling of the leaves and the creaking of the trunks softly swaying in the breeze have a very relaxing effect. It’s an experience that you shouldn't miss while being in Kyoto.
This temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, houses the world famous Rock Garden, which was once praised by Queen Elizabeth Ⅱ. Though the garden itself is quite simple and small, only with rocks and white gravel, it can give you philosophical and spiritual inspiration.
This famous Zen temple is an icon of Samurai culture. Although it is a very popular tourist destination, the unique sight of the Golden Pavilion is well worth a visit. You can get wonderful pictures of the gilded building and its beautiful appearance reflected in the pond.
The Nishiki market, which has been popular with the people of Kyoto for 400 years, has 126 shops lined up in a 390-meter long street. Kyoto’s peculiar vegetables and pickles are sold and you can taste some. Let’s enjoy the walk while imagining the eating habits of the people of Kyoto.
