Overview

Would you like to discover the highlights and history of Molde on foot? Then join us on a 2-hour city stroll. Along the waterfront and the green corridor, you will learn about Molde FK's home stadium, the imposing Seilet Hotel building and the chateau situated in a beautiful courtyard. From Rekneshaugen you will have a wonderful view of the archipelago and the stunning mountain panorama of Romsdalsfjord. In the city center, the Rose Girl, the Jazz Boy and the enchanting rose garden on the roof of the town hall and Molde Cathedral await you. The Storgata with its small local stores and cafés will also be part of our city walk, as well as Moldegård, the place where Molde was originally established.

Itinerary

  • Molde Cathedral

    Molde Cathedral replaces two other churches that previously existed on same site and were destroyed by fire. The church has a free-standing bell tower and is surrounded by the aromatic rose garden, which attracts many visitors to Molde.

  • Aker Stadium

    Soccer stadium of Molde FK and was built in 1998. Molde FK is very popular especially among the locals. Molde FK regularly hosts top European clubs.

  • From here you have a stunning view over Molde and mountain and fjord panorama. This park is created based on an English landscape garden style.

  • Jazzgutten

    This bronze statue was donated to the city in 1992 to honor its 250th anniversary. It is one of the city's most important attractions, along with the Rose Girl, the Molde FK stadium and the Seilet Hotel

  • The Rose Maiden Molde Town Hall

    Molde is known as “City of Roses”. This sculpture was a gift to Molde in 1971 from Gotlib Moe. It is situated on the square in front of the town hall, along the “Storgata”, the main shopping street in the center of Molde.

  • Molde

    Along the main street “Storgata” with its lovely local stores and cafés. Discover the Avenue of Paul's Scarlet Hawthorns, with its several roses planted close to the stores and the “Alexandra Park” with its fragrant roses at the end of the Storgata.

  • Discover the historic centre of Molde. A former farm, now a neighborhood with typical wooden houses and an industrial area with a modern shopping center.
