Very fun tour. We enjoyed the day a lot, and our host Rocky was well organised and great to work with.

We had a fabulous day with the excellent Mary and her driver. Visiting Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and then the Wall, Mary's help and guidance was invaluable. Pick up was as arranged and the tour itself was without a hitch despite the huge crowds and large group that Mary had to keep happy. Commentary was excellent. Lunch at the Wall was lovely and our visit climbing the Wall was fascinating. Would definitely recommend for a hassle free day in visiting these places in Beijing that would be very difficult to arrange independently as a foreigner. Thanks Mary (and the driver) for your hard work in what was a real highlight for us.

We took this tour as a family in April, and overall, it was a really good experience. The itinerary covers so much in one day – Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Great Wall – all must-sees if you're visiting Beijing. It was a very crowded day, especially around Tiananmen and the Forbidden City, which made things a bit hectic at times. But our guide, Helen, handled it all really well. She was calm, organized, and always had a plan to help us avoid the longest lines or find better routes. Her English was excellent, which made communication easy, and she gave us a lot of interesting background info that helped us appreciate what we were seeing. Overall, the day was full and sometimes a bit rushed (understandable with so much to cover), but Helen made a big difference by keeping things moving smoothly and staying friendly and helpful throughout.

Dear Anne G, thank you for taking time to rate our travel service. It is very delighted to have your praise for our guide. There is nothing happier than seeing you enjoyed your trip. Thank you for giving us the chance to serve you. We look forward to traveling with you on your next vacation! Best regards from TravelChinaGuide Tours.
In the morning, your professional guide will pick you up at your hotel lobby, and then a comfortable and capacious chauffeur-driven minivan will transfer you to Tiananmen Square. Follow your guide to take a morning walk around this city square, and you can shoot distant view photos of the brilliant landmark buildings such as the Monument to the People's Heroes, the Great Hall of the People and the Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao.
Walk through the Gate of Heavenly Peace with the great Chairman Mao's portrait on it; you come to this morning's highlight - the 600-year-old Forbidden City - the largest and the most intact imperial palace complex of the Ming and Qing Courts (1368 - 1911 AD).
The majestic Forbidden City has 9,999 rooms! Which are the most essential and interesting parts? The veteran itinerary designer carefully selects the top 10 palaces for you, including major ones on the traditional central axis, and some special chambers on the east and west wings.
Note: Since the Forbidden City is closed on Mondays, this tour designer carefully choose the Summer Palace instead of Tiananmen Square & the Forbidden City if your travel date happens to meet Monday. Summer Palace is the largest and best preserved royal garden in the world. It is a fantastic resort for travelers to admire the peaceful landscapes and magnificent architecture.
After 1.5 hours driving, you will arrive at the Mutianyu Great Wall, which is the best preserved and most popular section among all in Beijing. The itinerary designer smartly choose afternoon to visit the Wall to avoid the crowds, and you’ll have at least 2.5 hours to visit the wall and take some nice photos.
Finally, your tour guide will accompany you to the Houhai Lake Area and Yandaixiejie Hutong, which is a typical representative of old Beijing. Home to various specialty bars, cafes and restaurants, it is an ideal place to discover the unique charms of the old alleyways, enjoy the amazing scenery of the Houhai Lake, try the authentic local food and snacks, or just spend time there to experience the vibrant nightlife of Beijing. If you like, you can explore it leisurely by yourselves and return to the hotel by taxi.
For clients who are interested in exploring the area on their own at night, we will stop 5 minutes here to drop them off. Then we will continue to drive others back to the hotel. Hope you have enjoyed this day trip with us!
Important note: A private tour will be offered exclusively for you if you have 9 people or more.
