While Rome alone receives over 35 million tourists per year, few will take the opportunity to visit the intensely atmospheric Capuchin Crypt, renowned for its unique chapels adorned with the bones of over 4,000 friars. This self-guided tour, enhanced by an informative audio guide, offers insights into the Capuchin order's traditions and the significance of the crypt's macabre decorations. Begin your journey with a panoramic bus transfer, providing scenic views of Rome's landmarks en route to the crypt. Located beneath the Church of Santa Maria della Concezione, the museum comprises eight rooms showcasing the Capuchin friars' austere lifestyle and spiritual practices - a must-see for anyone drawn to darkness.

Beautiful visit to the Catacombs, but also the Crypt was a nice discovery! The guide was very knowledgeable and the Capuchin Friars Museum surprised me for the variety of trees exhibited!

This rating is about the tour group-not the Bone Chapel itself. That is cool, but go to their museum website and buy the tickets yourself for 10€. We had to walk on a hot day to a tour office in a whole other part of town to get our tickets. They said there was a “Panoramic bus” to tale is to the Bone tour. In reality, they gave us tickets to a Hop on/off bus that was very very hot. We got off a stop early and walked to get out of the heat. I recommend the Bone Chapel museum but not using a booker like Viator.
