Historic train ride at the end of the world

Very nice trip to the national park with highlight: Take the train to the end of the world. Narrow gauge railway in closed carriages, padded seats, s e h r tight. Boarding easily at the station. Service on site top. Stopover after 10 min. at the waterfall, then another 30 min. Former departed train. Price/performance: borderline. Ride n u r Oneway

Today, I took el Tren del Fin del Mundo. But it was not in fact, as advertised, the train to the end of the world. It is just a small train on what was referred to as the most southern town on the planet. Back in the late 1800s to the 1940s, the train was used to bring violent prisoners to the area. They were exiled here to work hard labor cutting trees to build more train tracks and for heating. Like the other national parks in Argentina, the Tierra Del Fuego in Ushuaia was similarly beautiful.

Itinerary
We begin the tour from the city of Ushuaia, where the guide will be waiting for you in the lobby of your hotel. We will get into the vehicle and head southwest along national route No. 3, towards the Tierra del Fuego National Park.
45 minutesParque Nacional Tierra del Fuego
After crossing the Pipo River bridge, next to the Ushuaia Golf Club, we will arrive at the Ferrocarril Austral Fueguino station, within the Tierra del Fuego National Park.
20 minutesThe End of the World Train
The Fuegian Southern Railway begins its journey starting from the End of the World station, on the same embankment that the prisoners traveled 100 years ago.
The train continues its march following the course of the Pipo River, crossing sectors where it is possible to observe the trace left by the actions of the prisoners.
The Train route ends at the “Park” station where our guide will be waiting to continue the visit to the Tierra del Fuego National Park.

We continue along the path surrounded by Lengas forests and peat bogs, we will reach Lake Acigami (former Roca), framed by mountains and forests, where it is possible to see specimens of native birds. Here we will have time to take photos and enjoy nature.

In Lapataia Bay, in addition to the sea coast, we will find vestiges of the ancient aboriginal people that inhabited the region. There we will have time to walk the walkway from which we can take photographs and enjoy the feeling of being at the end of the world.
From this place, the end of National Route No. 3, we will begin our return to the city of Ushuaia.
