  • Rodeo Drive

Rodeo Drive is a three-block portal to Los Angeles glitz. Running between Wilshire Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard, it is one of the most famous shopping spots in the United States, and is among the most expensive places in the world. This is where the stars do their shopping, and where many others come to catch a glimpse them doing so. All the most celebrated clothing designers have boutiques here, from Gucci and Armani to Christian Dior and Coco Chanel. It is in fact home to one of the most expensive stores in the world: Bijan. To shop here you must book an appointment in advance, and the typical customer apparently spends around $100,000 in a single visit. To top things off, Rodeo Drive is of course studded with jewellery stores, like Cartier and Tiffany. Even without buying things, it all makes for glorious window-shopping. Much of Rodeo Drive is perhaps surprisingly understated in design, with the exception of Via Rodeo. This little stretch was inspired by a romantic vision of old Europe. Its short, curved streets are paved with cobblestones and lined with classically styled buildings. Expect stone archways, flowing fountains and wrought-iron lamp posts. It’s a great spot for a photo.
