After meeting your guide in Colaba in the late afternoon, set off on foot through the streets and alleyways and stop first at Crawford Market.
Founded in 1871, Crawford Market sports Gothic and Romanesque features, a defining architectural style of South Mumbai. Check out displays of colorful vegetables, meats, imported cheeses, homemade chocolates and household goods. (Please note that some endangered and exotic animals are sold at Crawford Market).
You'll then continue to your next destination: Mangaldas Market. Opened in 1893, Mangaldas Market is home to hundreds of clothing vendors and tailors, and it is known to celebrated fashion designers for its fabulous fabrics.
Take a break from shopping to visit the Mumbadevi Temple. Inside the temple, you might see devotees being blessed by Hindu priests and your guide explains the basics of Hinduism, the dominant religion of India.
After the temple, visit Bombay Panjrapole, an animal shelter situated in the heart of South Mumbai. The shelter primarily cares for hundreds of cows, which are sacred to Hindus.

Sabina was just wonderful. We felt very safe and comfortable with her. She used her excellent local knowledge to guide us through the markets and temples. she steered us away from people who tried to take advantage but did it in a way that we didn’t realise what was happening. Really loved seeing all of the different markets. The flower market was just divine and smelled amazing. I loved all of the exclamations of the food and the different parts of the market. Great to see real life in Mumbai. We cannot speak highly enough of Sabina, she was just wonderful, an excellent guide and I lovely person. Would highly recommend !!

I had a great time with Nilesh on the Mumbai walking tour. He showed me interesting places that were on my list and some that I didn't know about. He had a lot of great information about Mumbai and was able to answer all of my questions. Highlights were the cow sanctuary and a quick stop for street food. Highly recommend!

I done one tour in 2020 and it was amazing and I have done two tours in the past week with my parents and they have both been fantastic. Guides are very knowledgeable and make sure you feel like you are in real India. The tours are very organised. Mumbai city and market tour is fantastic and they take you places you probably would never venture to. Dharavi Slum Tour was amazing too. Our guide met us at the Churchgate train station in south Mumbai and took us to Dharavi where we met other guides and other people. Our guide was lovely and she very knowledgeable. The company are very respectful of the people within Dharavi with their no camera policy. Fantastic tour all round. I will definitely do tours in New Delhi too. Rajesh and the female
One of the city’s largest wholesale fruit, vegetable, meat market— and the first building in India to get electricity!

This is the historic Hindu temple that is the namesake of Mumbai. If you’re up for it, receive prasad: blessings from Hindu priests. We’ll take a break from the busy markets and visit inside.
Nestled away in the heart of the city, Bombay Panjrapole is a sanctuary for the welfare of more than 350 cows. The cow is considered sacred by Hindus; to increase their karma, people will come to the shelter to feed the cows.
