Very experienced and knowledgeable guide. Took his time making sure we walked at our own pace and answered any question we had.
After our meeting point at the Solis Theater we will go to Plaza Independencia, today being the main square of Uruguay, we will see the monuments and the meaning of the palm trees, plus other secrets that the city has. We will start with a historical introduction to Montevideo and Uruguay in general.
At this point we will observe the meaning of the monument in the square and visit the Artigas Mausoleum, located below the monument.
At this point we will observe the architecture of the building and we will talk about the history and legends of the place observing it from outside. In addition, it was a point of reference for the most famous Tango in the world "La Cumparsita".
We will see one of the headquarters of the Executive Power that functioned that way until 1985.
There we will see in passing the current headquarters of the Presidency, where the offices of the president are.
Montevideo was a walled city, and we will see the remains of the Puerta de la Citadel, the entrance to the Colonial city.
We will walk through one of the most cosmopolitan pedestrian streets that the city of Montevideo has, where we will see the diversity of culture, we will also pass through the Callejon de la Diversidad within the same sector.
We will see the first theater in the city from outside, and the first in South America. Also details of ruins of the old wall.
Here we will see in detail the fountain in the square with symbols of Freemasonry.

We will pass through the only block in Ciudad Vieja that is shaped like a rhombus.
We will enjoy one of the oldest markets in the city that currently has a lot of gastronomy and souvenir shops available only on the afternoon tour.
