A great day in Tuscany

Enea was a fantastic guide. He was on time, drove very safely and was very easy to talk to. The vineyards he took us to were wonderful and the information he gave us as the day went on was fantastic. He even gave us recommendations for when we were on our on. The restaurant he recommended in Cortona, which is where our home base was, was the best meal we ate. We would definitely use Pek Tuscany again and would request Enea.

Our first trip to Italy and we were fortunate to find PEK Tuscany In Limo and build a few trips of a lifetime. We contacted their team by email and were immediately met with…” how can we help make this trip special and perfect for the two of you?”. Andrea listened to every word and built a private tour of the Val d’Orcia assuring us we would see Pienza, Montepulciano, and Montalcino. Having spent the previous day with one of his fantastic guides (Stefano) seeing the Chianti region, we were certain this trip would not disappoint. Imagine being taken on a journey by a friend that is so passionate and engaging that you are swept away and ready to buy your own Tuscan villa and move to Italy as soon as possible! This was our experience with Andrea. We were led on a journey through the back streets and special places in each of the towns we visited, including descending below the street to see ancient wine casks and tunnels. We experienced the culture as a local and were treated with a level of care unmatched on other tours. We would highly recommend using PEK/Andrea’s team for private or group tours, and we will definitely contact them on our next visit to Italy!
Itinerary
Montepulciano
Our driver will pick you up at your location (hotel, B&B or private apartment) and take you on a journey through the rolling hills of Tuscany. The first stop will be in Montepulciano for a self-guided tour:
We will arrive at the main square of Montepulciano, we will visit the city and a historic winery. The ancient buildings of the city hide secret cellars, where you will find gigantic oak barrels, in which the famous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG and Rosso di Montepulciano DOC "rest". We will take a guided tour inside the cellar and enjoy a delicious lunch with 5 wine tastings in the historic cellars:

In the afternoon we will go to Pienza, the city of pecorino cheese. Pecorino is one of the best cheeses in Italy, especially in the 'under ash' version. The cheese has very ancient origins and was probably produced in the area ever since humans settled here.
In Pienza we will walk along the walls of the ancient city admiring an incredible landscape, you will also find the typical artisan shops and the famous pecorino cheese shops, where you can taste the best cheese in Italy.

Leaving the city of Pienza we will travel along one of the most beautiful "Tuscan wine roads", famous because many photographers have taken the photographs that we find in many tourist books of Tuscany: rows of cypress trees, rolling hills, wheat fields and vineyards. Many films have been shot in this area such as: "Gladiator" and "Under the Tuscan Sun".
Montalcino
Arriving in Montalcino for a second wine tasting, we will visit a prestigious family-run winery.
This historic family has been producing Brunello (the king of Tuscan wines) for generations:
Brunello di Montalcino is one of the most famous and prestigious Italian wines. All Brunello di Montalcino wine is obtained exclusively from "Sangiovese Grosso" grapes grown on the slopes around Montalcino.
There will be a guided tour of the farm and cellars, where after a short lesson on wine, local production, you will taste the prestigious Brunello di Montalcino wine and other prestigious wines from that area.
