This small-group day trip to St. Andrews starts in central Edinburgh, where you’re picked up in the personalized comfort of a top-of-the-range, 16-seat Mercedes mini-coach. Your guide narrates and makes plenty of stops, allowing for more intimate knowledge at each Scotland destination.
Traversing the Forth Road Bridge over the Firth of Forth, you’re treated to views of the Forth Rail Bridge, a cantilever railway bridge and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enter the peninsular Kingdom of Fife, surrounded by the Firth of Tay and the North Sea, and listen to anecdotes about the photogenic coastal villages of East Neuk.
Make a stop in the harbor-side town of Anstruther before descending upon St. Andrews, a medieval town and 1,000-year-old capital of the Scottish Church. You have free time to stroll around the University of St. Andrews—attended by Prince William and the country’s oldest university—and see where golf is played at the Old Course.
On the return drive to Edinburgh, head to Falkland, a village dominated by the imposing Falkland Palace once belonging to Scotland’s royal family. Cross the Lomond Hills and see where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned at Loch Leven.

This tour was so much fun if you’re a golfer or not. Our tour guide Eric was so much fun and knowledgeable about Scottish history. Even if you’re not a golfer Saint Andrews has so much more to offer! Being from Florida. I was happy to be able to dip my toes in the North Sea! Great experience with a fun knowledgeable tour guide!

Our tour guide Stuart was great! He was professional, entertaining, and even gave a little history of the towns along the way! St Andrews was beautiful!

Fun and interesting tour. We wanted to spend the time at the golf courses which is exactly what we were able to do. Great driver and fun time everywhere.
Say goodbye to Edinburgh as we head towards one of Scotland's most iconic viewpoints: the Forth Bridges Viewpoint. Opened in 1890, 1964, and 2017, these three bridges -despite their differences - oddly complement each other.
Stop in the traditional fishing village of Anstruther (known as 'Ainster' locally), where you can check out the old cobbled streets and take a walk along the seafront to the harbour.
Free time in St. Andrews to visit the sites that interest you most.
St. Andrews Cathedral - This ruined cathedral was once one of Scotland’s most magnificent buildings.
St Andrews Old Town - Immerse yourself in 1,000 years of history as you explore the winding streets and ancient castle.
The Old Course - Golf was so popular in Scotland, it was banned in the 15th century. And nowhere was it more popular than in St Andrews, ‘the Home of Golf’.
After St Andrews, we take a pleasant drive through the rolling countryside of central Fife to Falkland. Falkland Palace dominates this old village, and was one of the main residences of the old Royal family of Scotland, the Stewarts (Stuarts). Aside from the palace the village is simply one of the most beautiful in Scotland with an array of old cottages and narrow winding streets.
Passengers here have free time to wander around the village of Falkland or visit the palace. * Please note the palace is closed over winter season (Nov - Feb)
