Walking through Diocletian's Palace in Split was an unforgettable experience, made even better by our excellent guide. His deep knowledge of history and storytelling brought the ancient walls and streets to life. He was friendly, passionate, and willing to answer all our questions, making the tour both educational and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

We highly recommend Temper Travel. It is owned by two brothers who are both wonderful. Bosko was our main guide and the depth of his knowledge was unmatched. He told us everything we wanted to know and more. He is very good with teenagers. Our kids related to him. and he knew how to interest them in the tour. Book with them if you are going to Split.

Wow! When you hire a licensed guide from a reputable company you truly get what you pay for! Our guide Pavle was PERFECT! He started our tour by providing just the right amount of history about the site to get us started. As we toured he connected back to his initial history chat and skillfully pulled the story all together. He was interesting, engaging and did not overwhelm us. Its great when a guide can tell the “story” of a site and weave in interesting details along the way to enhance the experience. We requested to visit the market and Pavle was able to connect the significance, location and history there too. He was a professional!

This private walking tour was an excellent experience that both educated and entertained us for three hours. We were impressed with the knowledge that our guide was able to share and the colorful stories he used to teach us while showing the many beautiful sites. We strongly recommend that you book this adventure as you will see the old city of Split in a way that will entertain you.

Once again, thank you for booking our tour, I had a great time! Enjoy your stay in Croatia! Cheers! Pavle
Emperor Diocletian entered the main palace gates for the first time when he retired and never looked back, see for yourself what made him stay. Overlooking the gates, the statue of Croatian bishop Grgur offers good luck to all passengers.
Peristyle is the geographical and spiritual center of the Palace. This square is one of the closest links of a modern man with the ancient heritage and it leaves a monumental impression to this day. Surrounded by some of the highlights of the city, Peristyle is closely guarded by a 3500 year old sphinx. Leading up to Peristyle from Riva you will pass through one of best preserved ancient complexes of Substructures in the world, that host numerous local artists who exhibit and sell their works to curious passengers.
Cathedral of Saint Domnius, which was once the Mausoleum of the Roman Emperor Diocletian, is the oldest building in the world in which a cathedral is situated. In front of it stands the stunning Romanesque bell tower.
Step into the emperor’s chambers through the Vestibule, a striking round hallway where you can hear local klapa singing.
Riva promenade is the city’s living room, the most popular and most important public place in Split, the main stage of everyday theatre and a venue for some legendary events.
Pjaca is the central stage of the city life where the citizens of Split always find a place to rest, meet, see and be seen and of course discuss the most important thing, football.
The Fish Market, just like the green market, is one of the central points of the city folklore. All that the Adriatic sea can offer comes to its tables: hakes, picarels, sardines, mackerels, breams, sea bass, shrimps, sea shells... The only thing that's missing are the flies...
Prokurative or as they are officially called, Republic Square resemble the Venice St. Marks Square. The square is open on the south side, providing a beautiful view of the harbor and the Riva.
The perfect way to end the tour is with the most beautiful view of Split! Just 15 minutes on foot from the old town is the terrace from which the whole Split will be at your palm.
