The beauty of a Cotswolds private driving tour is the freedom and flexibility that it gives you on the day. This tour has a set itinerary where we have a recommended route. Here we have combined idyllic villages with the more famous Cotswold towns. This gives you a wonderful overview and experience of what the Cotswolds is all about. As it is a private tour we are totally flexible as to how long you would like in each place. We are also very flexible and are more than happy to modify the itinerary on the day if you would like.

Pick up from Winchester hotel or train station and transfer 1.5 hours to the Cotswolds.
We will depart from Winchester and drive for approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to Bibury. It’s easy to see why William Morris called Bibury ‘The most beautiful village in England’ – wonderful stone buildings strung out along the banks of the River Coln.
Bibury is most famous for Arlington Row which even appears on the inside cover of UK passports!
Otherwise known as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ Bourton-on-the-Water is one of the most famous Cotswolds towns, and is regularly voted one of the prettiest villages in England. There is plenty to see and do with a wealth of attractions, shops, restaurants and tea rooms.
The word Slaughter comes from the old English word for ‘miry place’. However, don’t let the name deceive you as this village is considered to be one of the prettiest villages in the Northern Cotswolds and is set in the most amazing countryside. Lower Slaughter has also been voted as the most romantic village in the country.
Stow-on-the-Wold is one of the prettiest towns in Gloucestershire steeped in history and built by the Normans, it combines honey-coloured buildings, cosy pubs, narrow streets, interesting shops and tiny tea rooms.
We will have time for lunch here in a local pub or tea room.
Burford’s famous High Street sweeps downhill towards the River Windrush, with an unbroken line of ancient houses and shops, as well as a medieval bridge and an impressive church. Burford is known for its shopping – particularly antiques – and for the wide variety of restaurants, pubs and teashops.
You will leave the Cotswolds and drive 1.5hrs back to your Winchester accommodation.
