This was a really worthwhile and interesting experience, very glad we booked for it. Our guide, Erneste, was excellent and gave us loads of information and was an absolute pleasure to be with, so knowledgeable but made it really fascinating. He really knew his subject and added in some extra bits to our too. Very pleased.

This was a great tour. Oreste has a lot of knowledge about archeology. This tour company has access to keys to closed building that you wouldn’t be able to access by yourself, so it is really different from all tours that can be proposed by other agencies! I highly recommend it! Especially in hot season, this tour can also be “refreshing”!

According to tradition, it was the site of the first deposition of Saint Agatha, on which a small church was built as early as 262. Today the crypt still preserves the remains of ancient frescoes and decorations carved directly into the living rock
