Overview

Explore Munich, the capital city of Bavaria. Your private guide will show you the most beautiful parts of the town and introduce you to its rich and fascinating history.Munich is much more than centuries-old Gothic buildings, beer halls, Lederhosen-clad thigh-slappers and the FC Bayern Munich. It is a treasure chest of lesser known stories and local legends. Find out more about the love story of King Ludwig I and Lola Montez, a Spanish dancer who ignited a revolution, or about King Ludwig II, one of the most misunderstood royals of Europe.Discover the reason why Mary's Column gave its name to the central square, how old the Old and the New Town hall are, and the meaning behind the famous “Glockenspiel” in the clock tower. Admire the oldest Catholic Church of the city, St. Peter and make sure to get a good view of the double towers of the cathedral Frauenkirche, the largest church in Munich. See the epicenter of Munich’s beer culture, the royal brewery known as Hofbräuhaus established in 1589 and considered to be the mothership of all beer halls in the world. Visit the Viktualienmarkt, a public food market, which offers fresh local products and has the nearest beer garden to the center of Munich. A customization of the tour is possible by asking your local guide on the spot.
