The driver arrived late and said he would compensate the time but the tour ended early and he had no idea how to make arrangements for us to enjoy the time we paid for. He dropped us off much earlier than the 2pm which he offered as make up for being late. Throughout the tour he was more engaged with his phone than being interested to show us around or provide a historical description as part of our experience. He confirmed via whatsapp that he would provide a guided tour for our family throughout our visit to Dachau. However, he was not familiar with the grounds and instead of leading us, we were leading him. He had no idea where the exhibition ended and where it should started. Truly wasting our time and making us walk long distances only to have to back track to the beginning of the route so we can understand the tour in a more logical manner. He had no idea what the different buildings at the site was and told me quite a bit of nonsense. He even said it’s better if we just read the exhibition ourselves rather than him explaining to us because we will forget what he said. He even told me that the US army helped Hitler escaped and he did not die during the war. There were so many other guides at the site giving briefings and I never felt so scammed in my life. He didn’t know where the gas chambers/ incinerators are, he told us the nunnery was the staff barracks and he didn’t check if we needed a lunch break. He was self absorbed taking his own videos and he even lost us because he was occupied with his phone. He clearly wasn’t guiding us at all. We were just walking in random directions not knowing how to maximise our time there. We paid about 1000 euros for this. We expected a personalised service, All we got was nothing more than a very over priced Uber service to Dachau and back. The vehicle was filthy and had an over nauseating smell. I booked so many tours over the years. First time, I got scammed.

Munich, the capital of Bavaria, is a city of quiet elegance and deep historical roots. Its tree-lined avenues, stately buildings, and thoughtful pace make it an ideal departure point for a day of reflection and discovery beyond the city.
Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial is located near Munich and was one of the first camps established in Germany during the 1930s. It served as a detention site where many people were held under harsh conditions. Today, the memorial preserves original buildings and offers exhibitions that help visitors understand this important part of history in a respectful and educational setting.
