Upon arrival in Ålesund cruise terminal, meet your guide and settle into your comfortable coach for a day exploring Trollstigen, the Land of the Trolls. Your first stop will be the old Skodje Bridge, around 15 minutes away, where you can enjoy a short walk. There will be a few more stops for fjord and river gorge views, and a small Norwegian-style lunch, before arriving at Trollstigen.
You’ll spend the majority of your time at the viewpoints overlooking Trollstigen. You’ll get great views and photos of the impressive mountain pass’ 11 twisting hairpin bends that travel up the Romsdalen valley, as well as the surrounding mountains and waterfalls.
After a final stop for views, snacks, and souvenirs at Trollstigen Gjestegård, it’s back on the coach for the journey back to Ålesund cruise terminal.

I have been on many great tours but this one was one of the BEST. Tron was a great tour director and he took us to so many beautiful sights. I highly recommend this great tour. Be sure to have the vanilla ice cream

As a family of 4, my mother, sister, and daughter, we all thought this trip was amazing. The weather was incredible, which helped, but the locations we stopped at were well worth getting your camera out for. It was easy to find our guide, the mini bus was spacious and we had a picnic included too. I would definitely recommend this trip.

Hope you liked our outdoor picnic

The tour was excellent and the guides were very educational. What I really liked about this tour was that we went in passenger vans. Not on a big bus like some other tours I seen. We did a total of 5 stops and the tour was 6.5 hrs long but we were very comfortable and never felt rushed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this tour to any of my friends. 10/10.

I guess we had 7 stops

The experience has been amazing, the guide was super nice. At all times he was watching to tell us things about the trip, about the places we stopped, facts about Norway, where he operates, where to go to the bathroom... In short, maximum kindness and maximum professionalism. In addition, the group was quite small because transport was a minibus. The only bad thing was that he spoke only in English, but the information for each stop was provided in writing in Spanish. But finish, say it has been an amazing experience with some super nice stops and a must-see guide.
5. Our first stop is Kokarsteinen
A place where travelers had to stop for some food or a rest or seeking shelter in the old days.
Look for the stone construction.
Restrooms available when open cafeteria, NOK 10 per guest.
10. ViewPoint by the sea On our way to ViewPoint by the sea, we pass the old Rose Church in Stordal. Built in year 1789. Another fantastic ViewPoint close to Liabygda. Down to the left, you can see a salmon fishfarm, to the right, we see the town Stranda where the Grandiosa pizza-factory is located. Across the fjord, we see the fjord going to Geiranger and Hellesylt. Up on the mountain to the left, you can see the mountain farm Skrednakken. This is the farm our Norwegian Queen Sonja visited some years ago. Don't forget to take some nice photos.
20. Gudbrandsjuvet is a river gorge in the river Valldøla. The watery river flows between gorges and cracks in the mountain and meets from rather unexpected angles, before it flows under the bridge and plunges further down the valley. The gully is partly formed by several large potholes. The water feature is a tourist attraction, and platforms and bridges have been built in a mixture of glass and rust-corroded iron in both walls and floors. Here is a cafeteria and also free toilets available. You must try their Salmon baguette. So good !
25. The old bridge by Krikebrua Mother Nature ! I think this is one of the most fantastic stop on our trip. We stop on a small place with a free toilet and some benches for rest. Then we hike together about 3 to 4 minutes on the other side of the road. There we will see an old bridge (built in 1891) and a gorgeous waterfall and river above. The bridge is built of rocks only in 1891. No concrete or steel inside the construction. Please use the bins in the bus for your garbage.
30. Trollstigen ViewPoints is the main stop on our trip. There are 2 ViewPoints available, one is about 5 Minutes of walking, and the best one is about 10 Minutes of walking from the bus. The path to these viewpoints is laid in concrete and has solid safety fences around it. A souvenir shop and free toilets are also available in Trollstigen. There is also a cafeteria selling sandwiches, coffee and soft-ice cream. Hot meals are available here.
35. We drive downwards from Trollstigen towards Trollstigen Gjestegård. We stop for photos after Stigfoss. This stop applies from 15th of July 2025.
40. This is our last stop on our trip.
Trollstigen Gjestegård offer a big souvenir shop and a cafeteria. Restrooms are also available.
