Depart from your Bali hotel alongside your knowledgeable guide and venture to the venue of the impending spectacle. Arrive at the provincial village of Batabulan and disembark at a rustic amphitheater to witness the rich cultural expression of dance. Hear an expectant hush descend over the audience as troupes of talented dancers adorned with colorful costumes emerge onto stage.
See three hypnotizing dances performed during your evening experience; relish the electric atmosphere of the Kecak (Monkey) Dance as you see 50 men brandish blazing bamboo torches and telling the story of Prince Rama and his courageous rescue of a kidnapped princess. Watch performers become entranced and step over smoldering coals without feeling pain during the Fire Dance, and then see the convulsive choreography of the Saghyang (Trance) Dance, a traditional dance originally performed as an exorcism.
After the captivating performances conclude, return to your hotel with your guide, who will be happy to recommend local restaurants in the surrounding area.

Darta anticipated the heavy traffic in travel time. We had a few minutes to spare so we went to a temple. Darta gave me a tour and was very insightful on the buildings and ceremonies held there. Darta explained the storyline for the show very well, so I knew what scene we were at during the program. Darta is very knowledgeable about Bali history and share a lot of his information.

Nice but too much screaming I thought it was more interesting I'm disappointed the show wasn't for us

The driver & guide were good. The traditional dance was interesting and worth seeing. The only thing that let the experience down were the gift shop stops prior to the dance show (these weren’t listed in the tour itinerary). They really should be listed as part of it, with an option to opt out. Had we known we would have just caught a taxi to the show.
Response from Host, Apr 2025
We’re truly happy to hear that you enjoyed the traditional dance performance and had a good experience with our driver and guide. However, we sincerely apologize for the unlisted gift shop stops prior to the show. This should not have happened, and we understand how it affected your overall experience. Please be assured that we are following up with the guide involved to address this matter seriously.

If you are thinking of doing this in Legain or near there please note this is a good 1/12 hour drive ( its on the border of UBUD. There was no food on offer only packets of chips and drinks. It was very amateurish for what you received. We arrived early and the operator offered to take us to a silver shop that was cheap. It was quite expensive. One of the people with us had wanted to buy something but as we werent aware of this side trip didnt have enough money.
