The worst guided tour I’ve ever had. Completely unprofessional. You can’t call yourself a guide when you’re just reading from a book and can’t form a sentence in French. You should stick to the language you actually master.

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Hello Carole, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are sincerely sorry that the tour did not meet your expectations. We understand how disappointing this must have been. Guydeez is about creating happy memories, and we have already contacted you via email to follow up directly. Once again, our sincere apologies for this inconvenience, and we hope you’ll give us a second chance. Warm wishes, Guydeez Team

Elvira is a wonderful guide who loves Montpellier, its people and its many dogs so she was amazing at showing me the various neighborhoods I was interested in visiting and learning about. She is kind, well informed and an excellent communicator so I highly recommend her.

Excellent Tour of Neighborhoods

F9390VRalexc, Aug 2025

Elvira was a wonderful guide who showed me the neighborhoods I was interested in looking at for potentially relocating to Montpellier. She has a wealth of knowledge, is a really positive and fun person who loves dogs and really made the tour extremely enjoyable. Elvira was also a very good communicator ahead of our walk, and I highly recommend her.

Interesting tour with a seasoned guide.

Very interesting, thoughtful and kind guide. She knows the city well and is not stingy with her comments. It was very hot during our visit and she adapted well to make us feel comfortable.

Itinerary

  • Place de la Comedie

The square is first mentioned in 1755 and is named after a theatre that burned down in 1785 and 1855.

The Place became the focal point of the city when, in the mid-19th century the railway station Gare de Montpellier Saint-Roch was built some 200 metres (660 ft) south of it. At that time, a smaller train going to the nearby beach at Palavas-les-Flots also had its provenance on the Place.

    10 minutes
  • Palais de Justice

Discover the history of Montpellier's famous courthouse with your local guide.

    20 minutes
  • Eglise Saint-Roch

Eglise Saint-Roch or sanctuaire Saint-Roch is a church in the heart of Montpellier, France, built in the 19th century in the neo-Gothic style. It is recognized as a diocesan sanctuary by the Montpellier diocese of the Catholic Church. It is dedicated to Saint Roch, a native of the town and a healer of plague victims and pilgrims.

    30 minutes
  • Amphiteatre Anatomique St-Come

The building was the brainchild of surgeon François de Lapeyronie. He bequeathed part of his fortune to build an anatomy amphitheater similar to the one at the Collège Saint-Côme in Paris.

    30 minutes
  • Place de la Canourgue

The square is located in the Écusson sub-district, the city's historic center, part of the Centre-Ville district. It is 100 meters long and 35 meters wide, covering 2,895 m2. It has five access streets, three on its south-western side, one on its north-eastern side, which gives access to two staircases leading up to the square, and one which reaches the middle of the square, running alongside the Hôtel Richer de Belleval.

    30 minutes
  • Cathedrale St. Pierre

The cathedral was originally the church of the monastery of Saint-Benoît, which was founded in 1364. The building was elevated to the status of cathedral in 1536, when the see of Maguelonne was transferred to Montpellier. After the building suffered extensive damage during the Wars of Religion between Catholics and Protestants in the 16th century, it was rebuilt in the 17th.

    30 minutes
  • Hotel de la Prefecture

You'll pass the historic Hôtel de la Préfecture building. One of the first buildings constructed in Montpellier
