Visit the Jewish neighborhood of Girona, a historic home for a local Jewish community that has roots here from the time of the Roman Empire. During the medieval times, around 1000 people lived in this community, the largest Jewish neighborhood in Spain. Wander the cobbled streets and see where Nahmanides the philosopher once lived, and visit the places where three synagogues once were before the 1492 expulsion.
