Recommend but expensive

BeppieChick, Jul 2025

The tour was good but a bit overpriced for what we got. In total 4 small ports and 4 small chocolates. The skipper was awesome! Very friendly, spoke good English (even though he said he couldn’t), very informative and humorous. He made the trip. Wasn’t so keen when we got taken out to sea for the final sunset shot cos the boat was rocking n rolling - freaked me out. When I finally summoned the courage to let him know that, he pulled back and returned to calmer waters - that was very much appreciated.

Excellent river views, attentive staff and great wine! What more could anyone want!

Great tour with beautiful views of the river, Porto and Gaia! We booked the 7:30 tour and were able to see the sinset from the spot where the rover meets the ocean. The staff were all very helpful and informative and it was so much fun to tase so many kinds of Port wine (we had 4) as well as having some tasty cholocaltes along the way. We went as a family of 5 with a teen and 2 young adults and there were only a few other couples on board so the boat wasn’t too crowded and the staff were able to give everyone the attention they needed. This is a must do activity in Porto!

A delightful time!

The boat tour was wonderful and our guide, John, was friendly and so knowledgeable. The port wine and chocolate pairing were very tasty and we took a lot of great pictures. 10/10!

Itinerary

  • Ponte da Arrabida

The Arrábida Bridge is an arch bridge that crosses the Douro River, connecting Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. It was built in 1963 as a response to the increasing flow of traffic and the need for alternative connections to the old bridges. At the time of its construction, the bridge had the largest reinforced concrete arch of any bridge in the world.

  • Espaco Porto Cruz

While enjoying a Port wine tasting and chocolates, enjoy the beautiful views of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia.

  • Dom Luis I Bridge

While enjoying a glass of Port wine, enjoy the beautiful views of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia.

The Ponte Dom Luís I is a true icon of the city of Porto and a marvel of 19th century engineering.

  • Cais da Ribeira

The Dom Luís I Bridge spans the River Douro between Porto on the north bank and Vila Nova de Gaia on the south bank.

  • Ponte D. Maria Pia

There are six magnificent bridges that join the two banks of the Douro River. Have fun on the Six Bridges Cruise and get to know them! Classified as a National Monument the D. Maria Pia Bridge is a railway infrastructure that crosses the Douro River, connecting Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. Designed by Gustave Eiffel, it was once the largest iron arch bridge in the world and is considered one of his greatest masterpiece.

  • Ponte Infante Dom Henrique

The Infante Dom Henrique Bridge, also known as the Infante Bridge, is a road bridge connecting Vila Nova de Gaia to Porto, over the Douro River, in Portugal. Named in honor of Infante Dom Henrique (He was the main promoter of the Portuguese expansion, the so-called ''Portuguese Discoveries''), he was born in Porto, it is the newest bridge connecting Porto and Gaia.

  • Ponte de Sao Joao

The São João Bridge was built to replace the D. Maria Pia Bridge, another iconic bridge in Porto. The São João Bridge has become an iconic landmark in the Porto skyline and an important transportation link between Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. Interestingly, during the construction of the bridge, archaeologists discovered the remains of a Roman road and a medieval shipyard on the site, providing valuable information about the history of the area.
