This was a very well organized tour with a great guide, giving us all the different information points as we went along. Worth the cost unless you’ve seen a lot of other few on your trip.

The trip was amazing!!!! Even through the day started off overcast…it made the mountains more scenic. Then the skies cleared in the afternoon. The guide was awesome. He was informative and very friendly sharing all sorts of Norwegian info. Highly recommend this experience.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're thrilled to hear you had such an amazing trip, even with the overcast start — the mountains really do take on a special beauty in that kind of light. And of course, we’re glad you found the boat comfortable and clean — we work hard to make sure every detail adds to a relaxing experience. Thanks again for recommending us! ????

Spectacular scenery, absolutely no doubt this will be a highlight of your trip. However, given the cost of this excursion, here's the downside for us that we were less impressed with: Not enough seats for everyone who wanted to be outside. My husband and I spent the whole 3 hours awkwardly perched on top of an uncomfortable container because there were no seats. It also got cold - why? there were only 15 blankets to go round. Yes, we could have gone inside but the point is, this is best experienced up close and in the fresh air! I felt like this company was packing people in to get the most onboard with little regard for comfort. Most people wanted to be outside on the way to Geirangerfjord for this once in a lifetime experience. On the way back we were one of the first in line to get back on the boat but even then, the seats aren't out on deck, they are stacked up and you have to rush to grab one in the frenzy before they all run out. This was a big negative but luckily we had beautiful weather and great scenery but I did not expect the competitive sport involved just to get a plastic seat for something that we'd paid $200 for each.

Hi, and thanks for your feedback. Yes we agree, our 3hour Fjordcruise tour sure is a spectacular trip to take in all seasons. It sounds like you had a fantastic weather day when perhaps more people than usual stayed up on the deck in this great spell of weather we have enjoyed in the last few weeks. Most guests recline in the comfortable and warm indoor viewing lounge for the majority of the journey, where the wonderful panorama windows offer the same great views but without being exposed to the elements which are often very bracing, especially at cruising speed. Guests will usually pop on deck for short spells then retreat to the cosy lounge. Good on you for staying outside for the whole trip – that is very rare and we are sure you would have felt the cold. Being so far north Norway can experience a large variety of weather conditions. We certainly encourage people to dress warmly for the excursion, especially if you wish to go up onto the outside decking area. Our boat cruises at over 20knots and is governed by fast boat regulations that limit the amount and type of seating in outside areas. The trip covers 3 fjords over the 3 hours, and naturally the highlight is the last fjord – the Geirangerfjord. This is where the most scenic part of the tour is, with magnificent waterfalls and fjord farms perched on tenuous cliff ledges. Sights to behold. We slow our boat for parts of this section so more people who wish to go up on deck and feel the nature can do so more comfortably. We hope your impression of the journey was not soured by the limited seating on the upper deck but rather you will remember and reflect on photographs and memories that as you say – are often the hightlight of people’s visit to Norway.
The tour starts in the center of Ålesund city, inside the historic 'Brosundet' harbor at 'Skansekaia' pier. The boat tour takes 3 hours each way. The highlight of the tour is the cruise along the UNESCO Geirangerfjord incl "The Seven Sister Waterfall" and the 2,5 h stop in the village of Geiranger. The time-table during June, July, August 2022 is: you start at 08:30 in Ålesund; arrive in Geiranger at 11:30 and leave Geiranger at 14:30; arrive in Ålesund 17:30.
As you starting directly in Ålesund you are able to walk to the boat from most of the city hotels. The airport shuttle bus station is also close to the boat as well as the cruise port of Ålesund.
Geirangerfjord; Geiranger; The Seven Sister Waterfall, The Suitor Waterfall, UNESCO site,
You will have enough time (depending on schedule) to visit the village of Geiranger, we recommend to pre book a excursion via bus or taxi to the closer sights above Geiranger. You can also walk along the waterfall walk to the UNESCO visitor Center NORSK Fjordsenter a stunning exhibition. In our village we have many small cafés, restaurants and souvenir shops too.
