Itinerary

  • We will start our tour by visiting the Inner Harbor, the largest inland port in Europe and a major attraction of the city. During the period of most products in the Industrial Revolution, the principal harbor and commercial site of the town were located there. Nowadays, the place has become an entertainment area, full of bars, cafés, and restaurants.

  • In this breathtaking landscape, we will see ruins of the outer walls of demolished houses, a work of art created by the Israeli artist Dani Karavan.

  • Duisburg Inner Harbour

    We will have a view towards a row of buildings, also known as “The Five Boats” and see the pedestrian bridge, which opens upwards to allow the bigger ships to pass through, and then we will go to the marina.

  • Our next stop will be in the heart of the old city, at Castle Square. In the 16th century, a weekly town market took place there.

  • Salvatorkirche

    Not far from the Castle Square, we will find the Salvatorkirche (Church of our Savior), a church of the 14th century designed in Gothic Style, and the memorial of the most famous son of the city: Gerardus Mercator, the most famous cartographer and geographer of his time.
