Next, we’ll have a 30-minute comfort stop at Aviemore, a lively town situated in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Known for its outdoor activities and stunning surroundings, Aviemore is a hub for visitors looking to experience the natural beauty of the Highlands. During this stop, you’ll have time to grab a refreshment, explore a few of the local shops, or simply take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Our next stop is a brief but picturesque 10-minute photo opportunity at Loch an Eilein, located within the stunning Rothiemurchus Estate. This tranquil loch, surrounded by ancient Caledonian pine forest, is a perfect spot to capture the beauty of the Highlands. With its scenic views and the ruins of a 13th-century island castle in the middle of the loch, it’s a photographer’s dream. Take a moment to breathe in the fresh Highland air and snap some memorable photos before we continue our adventure.
Our main stop is the charming village of Fort Augustus, where you'll have 1 hour of free time to explore both the town and the iconic Loch Ness. Nestled on the southern tip of Loch Ness, Fort Augustus offers stunning views of the loch and its famous Caledonian Canal. You can enjoy a stroll along the canal, watch boats pass through the locks, or visit one of the local cafés or shops. For those keen on catching a glimpse of the legendary Loch Ness Monster, this is your chance! Whether you’re exploring the village or simply soaking in the loch’s beauty, Fort Augustus is the perfect Highland retreat.
