The amazing and incomparable Astrid led our fantastic walking food tour of Rotterdam. We met at the location which was easy to find. From the beginning. Astrid was welcoming and so knowledgeable about the city. Her food stops were on point, and we "tasted" a variety of cultures throughout the tour. We appreciated her insight into the city's storied history and various neighborhoods. My husband, an architect, appreciated the variety of buildings we observed. What a wonderful experience we had, and we owe these incredible Rotterdam finds and memories to Astrid!

Hi Lore, What a lovely review, thank you so much! I'll certainly relay the message to Astrid, with whom we are now actually celebrating our tenth year of working together :0. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your travels. Best, Paul.

When others cancelled late they still have my hubby and I the tour. Several food stops some dutch some not. They Chinese dumplings were excellent. I even liked the herring. Ends at an out of the way bar brewery with custom beers. Do not choose the American options indicated by me (new England).

Hi there, Thanks for the review, glad you enjoyed! Would be interesting to know which beers you didn't rate so highly, Vet & Lazy are known for their daring taste combinations but maybe a bit too much for some. Usually the pilsner or a Weizen is a safe bet :). Have a good rest of your travels! Best, Paul.

My wife and I (75yrs old) have done a couple of dozen food tours around the world. In all seriousness, the was THE BEST (2cd best was a joke for our tour guide). We had 6 food stops and many more cultural and architectural stops. Amesh (I called him MESS!????) had perfect English and was over top knowledgeable about Rotterdam’s history, architecture AND food. We hit many of Rotterdam’s highlight areas and a couple off the beaten path. The food was AMAZING! It varied from fried to fresh and from fish to meat to cheeses. Sooooo good. As to MESS, think of the movie Slumdog Millionaire and square root that character and you might come close to approximating MESS encyclopedic vault of knowledge about Rotterdam and the Netherlands. After the tour, the entire tour group (4) went for a final beer and stayed and talked another 2 hrs! Who stays at “work” for two hours without getting paid?!! If you do not take this tour, you are going to leave Rotterdam with half the experience. SCREW THE YANKEES. GO RED SOX!

Dear John, This has to be one of the most entertaining reviews we've received in a long time, thanks for bringing a smile to my face! So glad you all enjoyed the city, the food and the company. Umesh is indeed a fabulous guide and we're lucky to be able to work with him. I'll be sure to show him this review as well, he'll love it :). And to finish off in style: Go Feyenoord! All the best, Paul.
This is our first point of interest. From here we will go on to visit many different spots in the city, including the West-Kruiskade, the Markthal, Central Station, the Cube Houses, both bridges, the Nieuwe Binnenweg, and many more. On the way we will stop many times for lots of food: the Dutch classics like bitterballen, cheese and poffertjes, but also international delicacies, craft beers and chips. Come hungry!
