Overview

Choose from a daily evening tour to explore under the cover of night, or opt for an afternoon tour on weekends. Meet your licensed tour guide at the Revere Bell in front of the Salem Visitor Center and set off on an easy walking tour through the historic town center. Guides are not costumed actors, but real historians and experienced paranormal researchers.

Hear about what really happened during the famous witch trials of the 17th century. Visit the Old Burying Point cemetery to see the tombstone of trial judge John Hathorne, and learn about the slave Tituba, who played a key role in the witch hysteria and was herself accused of voodoo practices. Keep an eye out for specters at the original Witch Dungeon, and get help examining your own photos for evidence of paranormal activity such as orbs, ectoplasm, and apparitions. See real photos taken at some of Salem’s most haunted sites that bear traces of ghostly activity, and learn about the scientific methods used by ghost hunters today.

Beyond witches, Salem has been the center of other dark legends including accounts of vampirism. Hear shocking tales of New England’s vampire folklore and documented cases of blood drinking for a true and disturbing sense of how this once-sleepy town became New England’s horror capital.

We’ve been to Salem many times and learned more in these 90 minutes than all our other trips combined! Informative, historically accurate, fascinating and pretty spooky. Highly recommend!

Itinerary

  • Tour the haunted streets where the infamous Witch Trials happened with a licensed public guide and paranormal investigator! Learn the strange truths of Salem past and present and maybe capture ghostly evidence of your own.

    8 minutes
  • Giles Corey was pressed here! This is believed to be the location where accused witch Giles Corey was pressed to death after he refused to confess. Probably the most gruesome story on the tour! Stand where he died and learn of the cruel curse he put upon the city as he breathed his last tortured breath!

    8 minutes
  • A quick stop a haunted church graveyard with ties to the Witch Trials! Great photo opportunity with beautiful antique gravestones.

    5 minutes
  • The location of the dungeon where the accused witches were held and tortured as they awaited trial and execution! Here you learn the history of the Witch Trials, the fanatical Puritans, and my favorite Witch Trials character, Tituba, the innocent enslaved woman who might have been a clandestine practitioner of Voodoo! Quite possibly the most active haunted site in Salem. Make sure to take lots of photographs here!

    10 minutes
  • Bridget Bishop's land. You will recognize this stop if you ever watch the ghost hunter shows. Relentlessly haunted by the restless spirit of one of the most ornery Witch Trials victims. Strangely enough this is also where Alexander Graham Bell demonstrated his telephone for the first time before a mass audience. People have reported weird physical manifestations of ghostly energy and taken some amazing pictures here.

    8 minutes
  • A great chance to snap a picture of location from the classic Hocus Pocus movie! This is where the big "I Put A Spell On You" ball was filmed!

    5 minutes
  • Vampires! My favorite part of the tour, here is where we delve into vampire legends and folklore as well as the strange truth about modern day true life blood drinkers! These stories get bloody.

    10 minutes
  • Master magician Harry Houdini performed a dramatic escape right here in Salem!

    5 minutes
  • Serial killer time! Both the Boston Strangler and the brutal maniac Carl Panzram executed their nastiest murders in Salem. You will learn the details here.

    5 minutes
  • A haunted bar!

    3 minutes
  • Dating to 1636 one of the oldest cemeteries in the United States. Resting place of Witch Trial judges and townsfolk who lived through the terrible ordeal. Tremendously haunted. Hawthorne hung out here during his life and possibly still does after death. Important American history site and a ritual location for modern magical practitioners.

    10 minutes
  • Peabody Essex Museum

Classy art museum which hides some of Salem's darkest secret artifacts!

    5 minutes
  • Here we share ghost photographs captured during our years of investigation.
