Overview

Outstanding tour and facility

Such an incredible tour, lasted around 2 hours via the individual tourist option. Our tour guide was Agnes, very knowledgable and brilliant presentation, loads of fun. The mines themselves are astounding. A must see if visiting Krakow.

Driver picked up on time in Mercedes van and promptly got us over to the salt mines for the tour which is operated by the mine. Got us safely back in time. Highly recommend.

We had a great experience in the salt mine, walking through the long galleries, which suddenly opened into very large spaces dotted with statues and altars and reconstructions of the miners' lives. The guide in Italian was excellent and we were able to learn the millenary history of the mine. Inside there is also a bar, to report that even the galleries were not small so they were easy to walk.
Not worth the visit

Super hyped and not worth visiting. 20 minutes of interest in a 2.5 hour tour. A change of exit route which added another 15 minute walk to reach a lift to the exit. And a further 10 minute walk to the ticket office.

Wieliczka Salt Mine
During the trip, you will visit one of the oldest working Salt Mines in the World – the Wieliczka’s Salt Mine, which has been producing table salt for over 700 years! Your English speaking guide will take you up to 140 meters underground for a 2,5-hours journey through over 2,5-kilometres long tourist route full of chambers with amazing carvings and statues and large collection of mining machines and equipment, where everything is made of salt. Please note that to reach the first level of the mine (64 metres underground), you have to descent a wooden stairway which has 378 steps. After the tour, you will be taken up to the surface with a lift.
