Disappointing

Von1956, Apr 2025

We found the tour guide difficult to understand as he spoke very fast. The first part of the tour focused solely on football graffiti which became a little boring. The guide walked past a number of excellent examples of street art but did not stop to look or discuss which was disappointing. We had already seen a wealth of exceptional street art in Buenos Aries and we felt that this tour failed to do justice to the variety and talent of graffiti artists in Buenos Aires. This is not a tour we would recommend

We're sorry you didn't enjoy the graffiti tour. This review appears to be a duplicate or nearly identical to a previous one made by another user. We’re not sure if it’s the same person who has written several negative reviews, as we cannot identify them. Our guides lead hundreds of tours each year and receive many 5-star reviews. We haven’t added any new guides recently, so we are surprised by your comment about the guide’s speaking speed, as no one has ever complained about that before. Regarding the murals: the artists paint according to current themes, and since we recently won the World Cup, naturally many murals are related to football. It’s what people love, and naturally, it’s what artists choose to paint. However, we also show murals on many other subjects. The murals change over time, as new ones are painted and old ones are covered, making this a very dynamic tour. Sometimes it happens that people have seen a photo online of a mural that no longer exists, as it has been replaced by new artwork.

Disappointing

Yvonne_O, Apr 2025

We arrived just before 3pm and met the guide as arranged. However he informed us that the tour would not start until 3.15. The tour was scheduled to last 2hours, however it finished at 5pm. We found the guide very difficult to understand as he spoke very quickly. It was disappointing that the first part of the tour focused exclusively on football graffiti and during the tour the guide repeatedly passed by extraordinary good street art without stopping. We have seen exceptional street art in Buenos Aires but felt that this tour did not do justice to the range and quality of local art. We felt that the guide was not particularly interested in sharing street art information and we would not recommend this tour.

We’re sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy the Graffiti Tour. The tour lasts two hours, although depending on the group’s pace and curiosity, there is always a flexibility of around 10 minutes more or less. This is completely normal, as every group moves at its own rhythm, and factors such as the weather, traffic lights, or other elements can slow down or speed up the tour. Regarding the football murals: in Argentina, football is extremely important to people. We won the last World Cup after more than 30 years of waiting, and for the vast majority of people here, it was the happiest day of their lives. Naturally, in a country so passionate about the sport, its artists will reflect that on the streets. We understand that if you're not a big fan of football, this theme might feel a bit repetitive. However, the murals are constantly changing according to the topics of the moment, and the tour evolves continuously to reflect the most recent events. We also showcase many other murals on different themes. The selection of murals is always changing, as some are painted over and new ones appear, so in that sense, this may be the only tour that always offers a different route.

Guide was knowledgeable...

Guide was knowledgeable about the area and the art. My husband and I enjoyed the two hour walking tour.

Pass on this tour.

We’ve been on a few graffiti tours and this one was not enjoyable. The tour guide used foul language, made fun of our religion, and mostly spoke about fútbol. We didn’t see many murals other than the fútbol ones.

Response from Host, Apr 2025

We’re sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy the Graffiti Tour. First of all, I’d like to ask if you could specify the date and the guide who led your tour, as none of our guides make offensive comments about any religion. We also don’t know which religion you’re referring to, since you didn’t mention it, so we’d really like to understand what offended you, as we are very careful with these matters. Regarding the football murals: this is a very prominent theme in Argentina, especially since we won the last World Cup after 30 years of waiting. Naturally, such a major event—so deeply rooted in Argentine culture, where people are very passionate about football—is reflected in street art. However, we also showcase murals on many other topics. The murals on the streets are constantly changing, so as other topics become relevant in society, the tour will evolve accordingly, reflecting what artists choose to paint.
