Really fantastic experience! Aki is really friendly and was incredibly knowledgable. We learned all about how sake is produced, how to read a sake bottle and pick one based on our personal tastes. We tasted lots of different sakes, very different in flavour profile and all delicious. I would highly recommend you book this experience

This is a must do for anybody who would like to have an introduction to Japanese Sake. Aki, with a depth of experience and knowledge as well as having worked in different parts of the world is perfectly positioned to guide through a representative range of Sakes. Speaking excellent English and with a good wit he makes it a very entertaining as well as educational few hours. The first surprise for me was the sparkling sake. A revelation and a very nice surprise. Definitely worth trying if you have the opportunity. Aki then guided us through tasting 6 further sakes. Using each one to explain different elements of the production of sake. We tasted two fermented in the bottle which are only available in Japan as they have to be refrigerated and thus do not travel. With one of the sakes he enabled us to taste it at room temperature and then warmed up to understand the difference and the release of additional flavours in some sakes when warmed up. It was a very worthwhile couple of hours and Aki is a very good facilitator and guide.

Had such a nice and informative same tasting with Aki. He’s quite the entertainer, while having us learn at the same time. I was able to put what he taught us to the test at a later time!

Aki is a wealth of knowledge and I enjoyed trying the different types and styles of sake, especially those we can’t get easily in Australia! He’s a fantastic host and it was a great night. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to try sake and learn a lot about it in the process.
