Meet your guide and small group in central Bordeaux and travel by minivan to your first destination—a Grand Cru winery in the Saint-Émilion wine region. Learn the secrets of Saint-Émilion’s famous red wines, the importance of terroir and the art of producing Grand Cru wines on a guided tour of the winery. After strolling the vineyards and peeking into the barrel room, head to the tasting room to sample a variety of fine wines.
Continue to the hilltop, UNESCO-listed village of Saint-Émilion, and soak up the atmosphere on a walking tour, admiring the medieval architecture, maze of cobbled lanes and spectacular views over the surrounding vineyards.
Make one more stop before heading back to Bordeaux—at a family-run winery, where the wine tasting is paired with a selection of regional cheeses and cured meats during an apéritif experience. Finally, with your appetite sated and a newfound appreciation of French wine, return to Bordeaux, where your tour ends back in the city center.
